Yes — a breezeway is one of the most common ways to join two Expandify homes while keeping them compliant as individual dwellings.
A breezeway is typically a covered, open-air walkway between two homes that:
- Maintains fire separation and NCC compliance
- Connects dwellings for shared use (e.g. laundry or living space)
- Preserves flexibility for future changes or dual occupancy rules
Breezeway designs are quoted on a case-by-case basis and are often approved under a DA pathway. This allows for creative site planning while retaining the benefits of modular construction.
All breezeways are constructed after installation by a local builder and are not part of the folding structure. Expandify can assist with draft layout planning and compatibility checks prior to quoting.
