Dual occupancy is possible in many council areas, but it depends entirely on local zoning, overlay constraints, and block characteristics.
If your property meets the criteria for dual occupancy, Expandify homes can be used as part of a dual occ setup. However, note:
- Expandify homes are Class 1a dwellings, and must meet full compliance for separate dwellings
- Dual occupancy may require a DA instead of a CDC (especially where shared driveways or breezeways are planned)
- Our homes are not joined or duplex-style buildings by default — they are two freestanding Class 1a structures
Expandify does not handle subdivision or strata planning but can assist by referring you to a qualified town planner. We can coordinate DA applications and offer compliant layout planning based on your goals.
