Yes — Expandify homes are engineered and certified for N2 wind classification as standard, and can be upgraded to support higher wind ratings (e.g. N3) on request.

Wind Rating Options:

  • Standard engineering meets N2 (33m/s), suitable for most inland and suburban areas
  • N3 engineering upgrades are available upon request for high wind regions (e.g. coastal zones, open plains)
  • All designs are structurally reviewed against AS 4055 Wind Load for Housing as part of your project

Wind rating upgrades apply to:

  • Roof tie-downs and wall bracing
  • Window and door pressure tolerances
  • Subfloor and footing anchoring systems

What you need to know:

  • Your site wind classification is assessed during the Preliminary Site Feasibility Check (Prelim) or Site Assessment stage
  • Higher wind zone requirements may incur an engineering and materials surcharge
  • This applies to both DIY Kits and Complete Packages
