Yes — all DIY Kits must be installed by either:
- A licensed builder or qualified trade team
- An owner-builder with appropriate permits (depending on your state)
Expandify does not manage council approvals or installation for DIY Kits, but we do provide:
- Class 1a certification
- Energy efficiency documentation
- Full structural and engineering plans
- Assembly and service guides
DIY customers are responsible for:
- Submitting the documentation to council for approval
- Hiring trades for installation, footings, services, and final certification
DIY Kits offer flexibility for experienced builders or customers coordinating their own build but still require formal approval and compliance with NCC standards.
