Yes — council approval is mandatory for all Expandify dwellings, regardless of whether you choose a Complete Package or DIY Kit.
Approval can be via Complying Development Certificate (CDC) or Development Application (DA), depending on your local council.
All Expandify homes are classified as Class 1a dwellings and require full certification.
Expandify coordinates the CDC pathway for Complete Package projects where possible. DIY customers are responsible for their own approval submission.
No Expandify dwelling can be installed or occupied without formal council sign-off.
