How Much Does Delivery and Installation Cost Outside the 100km Port Zone?

Delivery and installation costs for a Complete Package beyond the standard 100 km port zone vary depending on your location, site access, and the model you’re installing. While all quotes include delivery within 100 km of the nearest capital city port, additional distance or remote travel incurs separate fees — which are important to understand before you proceed with your project.

These costs are initially estimated during quoting and Prelim, then finalised following the detailed Site Assessment phase. Expandify uses fixed per-kilometre rates and structured builder pricing to ensure transparency and consistency across all jobs, no matter the region.

Delivery Costs Beyond 100 km From Port

Delivery is handled using low-loader trailers from the nearest capital city port to your site. Quotes include the first 100 km of this journey. Distances beyond that are charged based on the number of containers and overall delivery logistics.

Crest (50sqm model):

$8 per km (excluding the first 100 km)

Delivered in 1 container to site

Peak (80sqm model):

$14 per km (excluding the first 100 km)

Delivered in 2 containers, requiring coordinated offload and more handling

These costs are calculated from the nearest major port to your address. Expandify will include this in your quote as an itemised delivery line.

Certification Travel Costs

Certification includes a final on-site sign-off from a licensed certifier as part of your occupancy process. If your site is located beyond the 100 km zone:

An additional $5 per km applies (measured from the port to your address, excluding the first 100 km)

This covers the travel costs for one or more visits required to complete final sign-off

Applies to both Crest and Peak models

Your quote will reflect this after Prelim confirms certifier travel is needed based on your location.

Installation Travel Costs

Installation can be handled by one of Expandify’s regional builder teams or by our core team travelling from a metro location. The choice of installer depends on your site location, builder availability, and batch scheduling.

Expandify has found that:

Regional builder teams often have higher labour rates, fewer available trades, or longer install wait times

Our travelling teams, while covering longer distances, deliver greater control and efficiency on most sites

Travel fees apply as follows:

Crest (50sqm model):

$10 per km from port to your address (first 100 km excluded)

Single trip charge for delivery and setup

Peak (80sqm model):

$13 per km from port to your address (first 100 km excluded)

Higher due to added time on-site, more labour required, and two-container coordination

These fees cover:

Fuel and vehicle costs for the builder’s crew

Builder time spent in transit (often 4–8 hours depending on region)

Logistics and subcontractor coordination for remote installs

If the installation requires multi-day attendance, overnight stays, or meal allowances, this is assessed and quoted following the Site Assessment.

During quoting, Expandify will compare both builder options (local or travelling) if available and show a side-by-side breakdown to help you choose.

Installation Adjustments for Remote Locations

If your site is particularly rural, hard-to-access, or non-standard (e.g. long driveways, slope, soft ground), additional adjustments may apply:

Builder accommodation or multi-day site fees

Subcontractor premiums due to regional availability

Scheduling delays during extreme weather or distance from suppliers

Limited delivery windows (e.g. crane availability, road access restrictions)

In extreme cases, you may also see:

Escort vehicles for wide-load transport

Load staging offsite before final delivery

Access road improvements needed prior to install

Fuel and logistics surcharges may be applied based on distance, time of year, and local contractor pricing — these are always outlined before finalising contract.

Crane Hire Adjustments (If Required)

All Complete Package quotes include a 25T Franna crane for basic installation.

You may require a larger crane (55T or 100T) in cases such as:

Sites where the truck cannot offload beside the install zone

Sites with steep slopes, tight access, or obstructed entry (trees, fences, dwellings)

Homes positioned behind the main dwelling (requiring rear lift)

Additional crane fees depend on:

Size of crane required

Distance from the nearest depot

Duration of lift/setup

Need for crane mats, spotters, or pilot vehicles

Remote crane costs can add $1,500–$5,000+ depending on site conditions, and are quoted only after a full Site Assessment.

When Are These Costs Confirmed?

While preliminary delivery and install estimates can be given during quoting, final costs are only confirmed once your site is reviewed in detail.

Here’s the process:

Prelim ($500): Initial zoning and overlay review, confirms if delivery and CDC is feasible

Site Assessment ($5,000): Topography survey, soil classification, access mapping, and crane feasibility

Final Quote Issued: Includes locked delivery, install, overlay reports, and upgrade pricing

At this stage, your contract is fixed and your project moves into batch scheduling and production.
